Im on pump 3.4" gen3 with no rockers and 14.5* timing.
When the timing starts getting under 14* it is actually prolly doing more harm then good.

Too low of timing will increase the combustion temps.

stock timing is 16* iirc.. But it seems that a lot of cars dont mind to run as low as 14*

Anything less than 14 is no bueno.
Josh also doesn't count because he's on a high comp block.
You're low compression...so I'd be willing to bet that the 3.4/5 with more timing will make that car feel much better. At 11.5-11.7 it's also kinda lean, shoot for 11.0-11.3

Like Dan said, it's at 14* over 4k rpms. We tried running higher timing and I was seeing a constant 1-2* of kr in the higher rpms. And what sucks is Dan is three hours away. So getting an opportunity for him to tune is not going to be very easy. I know a guy near me that tunes. But I'm going to have to blow a hundred dollhairs for him to be able to tune it.
