hey, need a bit of help, my car ignitionswitch doesnt turn. some times it does wat could it be? you have to mess with it.:confused:

do you mean the ignition cylinder doesn't turn with the key or the electrical switch doesnt power up when key is in the on position.

i ment the key inside the switch doesnt want to turn is getting worse and worse.. any ideas? should i get the ignition switch or could it be something else.....:th_skull:

change the key cylinder before your key stops working one day. then it'll be a pain to break it. all you got to do is take off the cover from the steering column. there is a little hole at the top right above the cylinder. turn key onto on position and insert a small allen wrench into it and you should feel a tab. pull cylinder out when you feel the tab pressed down. i think you may have to put car in reverse to disable starter so you can turn key all the way to crank so you can feel that tab.

thanks for the tips. im going to try that ignitionswitch fix,but its alot of shss to do. my gtp its a 98, started with the ac blower motor quiting problem. the ac stops blowing and i have to hit the lower passenger feetboard where the blower motor is. ive read that it could be the ac blower motor resistor. but now the ign switch started to bug:th_skull:

Are you saying your having trouble "getting the key out" of the ignition, after you turn the engine off?

I am not trying to hyjack the thread but I have a question that may be along these lines. I have a 2005 GT. The key is getting where it will not even go into the switch(cylinder). When I can get it in, it turns fine. Should I look into changing the cylinder? What about having a locksmith look at it? And...how much does replacing a ignition cylinder cost? Thanks.
