I introduce the "Man van"! *now with vids*

Re: I introduce the "Man van"!

Nope this is a daily driver. But I did take the 2nd row bench seat out and added captains chairs. lol. But on the good side is both the 2nd and 3rd row seats come out with in minutes with no tools. So I can take them out at the track and ditch a couple hundred pounds easily.

I want a pic of said captain's chair. And definitely get vids up when you can.

Probably ones like from the Venture w/ armrests.

You gotta go down to Bradenton drag strip and see what this thing does in the 1/4. With this cool weather that just came throu, should do good!

If I ever have a prob with my GTP, this is what I am going to do.

That's what mine where. But the captains chairs look just like the front seats but just 2 of them and a gap in the middle. Makes it more like a nice van then a school bus.

I was going to go to the thing they had last weekend. But had some stuff to do then. But yes, now that it's cold. I'm going to do it soon since it won't stay this way for long.

i was thinking a drop, front window tint and removing the luggage racks would do a lot aesthetically.
The reason I did this was to make a practical daily drive with a little bit of fun. So that means, first stealth. I don't want people trying to run me at every light or cops harassing me. Second to have a nice smooth ride. So It's not getting lowered. Did that on the GP and hated it everyday. Third to have the practicality of the van. I can tow, haul and do what ever with it. That's what I like about it. Tough I might do the front windows to match the privacy glass in the rear.

Well it has the gtp tranny in it so.....lol

Awesome dude, I love it.
Yup 2:93's or what ever it was. If the trans ever goes bad it will get a TEP setup with MAYBE 3:29's. But I am more concerned with gas mileage. This is my daily driver with a 25 gallon tank I have to fill up with 93 octane! lol.

The thing is. This is my Daily driver. And I want to keep it that way. I like having it stock too. Nobody's going to pay attention to it. Don't really have to worry about it getting stolen or striped because it's a nice/popular car. Or people trying to race me at every light unless I start first. I can drive it without having to get worried about every little paint flaw that happens. I have a 87 IROC-Z that has everything done to it if I want to go out and play/show. So the van doesn't have to be a dual purpose vehicle. Just a fun daily. Adam :-)

And I just got a set of ZZP spark plug wires in today for it too!!! Hoping to get ride of the pesky P0300 code.

Re: I introduce the "Man van"!

The nice/popular part about it makes it more likely to get stolen, BECAUSE they're good for parts and won't stick out in the crowd. :P

Re: I introduce the "Man van"!

Dude I could just imagine.. a van at the light wanting to race me.. then I hear the whine from the van.. I'd be like uhh... what the hell?? LOL Should get some nice looks from people!

Re: I introduce the "Man van"!

A.) I can't believe you quoted the entire post.
B.) Did you really ask if it has dual-exhaust? GP's don't even have dual exhaust, we have single exhaust that splits out to two mufflers, which is almost purely aesthetic.

Re: I introduce the "Man van"!

Awesome setup man. Things I would do to that thing...is for sure get rid of the engine cover and the hood liner...keepin' those temps down...also, shoulda ported that blower while you had it out...I figure if you can do a motor/trans swap you can do a DIY blower porting and hog out that front manifold...its free...and every little bit helps ya know? As for the cradle...humor me a bit...so everything is the same underneath? I never looked into a Montana so that's why I'm asking...you used the Montana or GP cradle/axles? Factory or custom poly mounts?

that's what i ment , if it had two mufflers , my bad. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Who cares? It does nothing for the guy but waste money. It is perfectly fine as is, I'm sure.

It would have no effect as far as performance, and considering there is no proper bumper designed for dual-mufflers, it wouldn't help it as far as looks go either.
