• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

I have been forced to go boost(Top swap)

I might have a set of used togs(with no downpipe) For $100, I'll get a new tog downpipe from zzp if I can get the headers

awesome he took a pic and sent it, cant see much cause they are on the car atm, so this weekend he is taking them off and sending some more pictures.

be aware that if the previous owner tightened down the flanges on those headers really tight then they are probably tweaked and are now an oval instead of a circle. they tend to deform when tightened down too much and then not seal correctly even with a nicely placed donut gasket. check out the flanges before you buy, you've been warned. this is why i sold my used set of TOGs for a new set of headers.

Ill also ask for pics of flanges thanks bio.
we were txting last night and he says he will take lots of pics and says he doesn't want to screw me over, they are coming off a gtp with a blown tranny. if they are warped is their any way of making them seal? $100 for headers specially togs is a steel.

yeah, you can probably work them back into round with a vice or something i'm sure.

does this come with a downpipe that's ready to bolt in? typically the TOG downpipe is a shorty 3" pipe that you'll have to weld onto the catback somewhere.

no DP included, he's gonna have to buy one. but for $100, i was shocked to see the deal on my local board when it went down, was jelly.

still sending me pictures but I asked about the flanges, he said rear header to downpipe flange is bent.al other flanges are good.
guess ill bring it to a machine shop to have it straightened

so what are the chance my 2.5'' downpipe can connect with these togs? It would be alot cheaper then having to have a new downnpipe welded to my stock cat.

Check out the W-Body store, i think they had a good Tog DP. But i dont know the prices though but just helping you find a good quality DP. Oh and also 3800performance.com. Not sure if you look there already

ya them and zzp also has them, Im not getting the togs, they have a warped flange that i cant afford to fix, AND buy a down pipe for the togs AND get the downpipe welded etc. just gets costly.

found a ceramic coated plog 3 months old for cheap. gonna bolt that on and get the topswap done, with colder plugs,180tstat,plog, 2.5'' downpipe it should be safe on that with overkills incar tune. I just dont have the budget to afford headers and have install fitment/leak issues. Ill worry about that next summer.
now to start looking for/buying gaskets, coolant elbows, fluids, fuel lines, new bolts, belts, vac lines...lol and people say topswaps are cheap :th_laugh-lol2:

Are you porting the heads while they are off? The plog should be fine with the stock pulley. You might actually be able to drop to a smaller pulley depending on your tune.

im no mechanic so cant port the heads, im not even doing the top swap my cousin will be doing the install(licensed mechanic).
and pulley drop i cant even afford that.. need a new job lol.

You can p&p the heads yourself there is a thread about it somewhere and if done even halfways decent you'll have good gains from it.

So, then why top swap?

Sh1ts gonna break anyways.

cause its a good starting point to start modding, when i get a better job(im a commercial truck driver but need more experience for better paying job) I can start real mods to it, but since i got the topswap for free might as well save up money for the correct gasket bolts etc & slap it on. lwe all know modding the n/a hits a wall hp wise.

I just don't feel comfortable try it, maybe one day.
