Gear ratio helped out then on the race. Running 4.56 to the op's 2.93 or 3.29. Doesn't seem like your wifes mark would make more than about 30hp over stock? Not real sure on that though.
Without getting into a full trans ratios and final drive ratios debate. I'll focus on the highlights. :th_lightbulb:
What is Jared's max rpm before he shifts? - 5000rpm?
The white Lincoln is 7500rpm, so it need the gear to get it up on it's power band. It has 2500 rpms more than Jared to spin before the shift.
Think about it like this. A bike typically has a 14,000rpm red line. Now I don't know off the top of my head, but think about how short the gearing is on those to get them up on their powerband.
Now in saying all that, I shifted into 2nd (1-2 shift) at 3500rpm. (you can hear it in the video) Then I got WOT in 2nd, and shifted out at 5000rpm on the 2-3 shift (...on one race, 6800rpms on the other race)
