First off, I have a 2004 and I was just installing HUD and got everything wired but I have no up and down or any display out of it. It made adjustment noises when I plugged it in, but when I tried adjusting the height with the switch, no go. And when I plugged it in I could see the mirror moving up and down then stopped
 


OK...so if u look at it through the windshield its not putting out any light or anything?

And also while looking in it look on the side that's closest to the drivers side of the car, there's a little spring make sure it there and not fallen loose
 


If its a GM HUD then even if the switch is disconnected the HUD will still work. I only know this cause mine was disconnected for two weeks
