• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

hp vs mods

So were mine.

On both of my stock trans'd cars.

Then I had the TEP.

I don't recommend 100% line pressure on a built trans with a custom valve body.

My stuff is set at PCM max. Only way it could be higher is by drilling a hole in the case and adjusting it on the inside. LOL

I have a shift kit, and increased line pressure to just about the max.

No issues here.

Heat is your enemy in a transmission, as well as many other places in a car. Keep your shifts firm and quick. It will prevent less slip on the clutches, which also prevents less heat, and keeps your clutches alive longer.

I've seen so many input shafts snap on the 1-2 shift on 13 second cars.

I'll just keep admiring my stack of 11 second slips and nearly stock trans tables in my 178k mile car. :th_winking:

man, all these mods i can do.... thats why i love the l67/wbody platform.
Im gonna working on this thing for years. it should keep me suitably distracted from that shiny red ss camaro with black stripes i want :p

Camaro can have all the same mods...and be faster...and more fun.
yeah... but i havent even finished college yet. I could buy it but i probably should wait till i graduate and get a better job.
the GTP is my go fast on a budget, i own it free and clear car

Moral of the story = firmer shifts at stock to slightly over stock power levels = longer trans life. Firmer shifts at higher power levels = Boom Baby.

Get yourself a shift kit, a trans cooler, fresh non-flushed fluid and a bottle of Lucas Stopslip.
