What's the best way to tint my headlights and taillights. Can it be done my self or would I be better off taking them to a tine shop in town?

Don't tint your headlights it'll kill your output. Tailights sure either you can do them w/ nite shade yourself or you could go the better route and have a body shop do them. Ill post a link to a how to in a few minutes.

Awesome thanks. If I did headlight would I need to switch to hid's

lol @ tinting headlights.

Tinted lights are goofy.

So glad I don't have them anymore.

Hazards, is what they are.

Well smoked headlights or darker than just the clear glass ones is what i wanted

I tinted my tail lights but I did not go super dark. I did it dark enough to notice and did wetsanding in between coats and then did clear coats. Basically they were glossy enough that they looked alot darker than they were. I have followed my car at night from various distances and never felt that they were a danger. You could still see a lot of light. I also did my brothers quite a bit darker than I intended but when he hits the brakes you can still see the brake lights as plain as day. If I were you just do a slight tint. Usually its enough to look good but yet you can still see the reflectors in the tailights when your car is sitting on the side of the road.

Yea that makes since. I have a dark colored car and want the to blend in a little better. For head lights ive seen people with em blacked out. I don't want that dark but I want it to go with car a little better

I don't know if they make them or not for 04+ but if they do just run head light covers. When it gets dark you can just take them off but during the day your car will look awesome!

It's not at night you should be worried about tinted tails...it's during the daylight when you can't see s**t.

Avs makes lense covers but you'll want to take them off every night. IMO waste of money and time. I can't see myself every night popping then off just so I can see and then throwing them back on in the morning just to look cool. Function > form in this case.

Yea that's why I want a light tint...just enough to make the headlights go with car better. Everything on car is a darker color than the headlights. They just don't look right exactly

Thank you, someone with a brain who understands how refraction of light works.

I have mine tinted pretty dark. Did not mean to tint it that dark, just didn't want to see condensation in it anymore :D You can still see it pretty well. Plus I run with parking lights on all the time anyways, so I'm trying to be as visible as possible.

I have been behind other people during the day who have had their lights too dark where the light output was definitly impaired. So I do understand your concern.

I have seen people who have just done a chit job on the work and its way darker than it should be. If it's done right, it shouldn't impair that much, plus, you could just get new bulbs like I did, GE 20% more bright or whatever and people can see fine.
