Ive changed the front 3 spark plugs but i cant seem to get to the other 3 in the back. i heard of people saying to tilt the engine and i have no idea how to do that, and i feel like ill end up breaking stuff while tilting it.

either reach back there and get at them or UNBOLT the two DOG BONES (engine mounts) the are directly in front of the motor, trust me you will know what im talking about. after you did the, get a rachet strap and pull the motor foward buy hooking the one end on the engine pull bracket in the back and hook the other hook some where on the front, by the motor mounts to give yourself another 3-5 inches of space to get at them.

Step one. Remove all the usless brackets. Step two change rear plugs. One you clear all the crap you will find plenty of room

lay over the passenger side fender on to the engine, your left hand will be able to get back there with no problem. the boots are gonna be the hard part of the process

Those exhaust manifold heat shields are SHARP! Seriously!

One of the edges went thru my finger like butter when I was changing my rear plugs. :th_nervous:

The tools I use: Wrench, joint socket, socket.

It seems to take the same amount of time to reach back and squeeze in as it does to unbolt and bolt the dogbones and strap the engine forward.

Definately get a joint socket or a joint extension.... i find #6 plug is obstructed by the 02 sensor... so its go around it or pull the sensor to replace the plug.... such a pain those back 3, but you can do it

Man up TL....Man up...lol

Hey now, I bled on the SSEi, blood sweat and tears keeping her running solid, now i have the tools to make the GTPs work easy :th_laugh-lol2:, like jointed sockets and extensions to get around pesky problems :th_thumbsup-wink:

Alright, I just got done doing these for the first time, and I will have to say, rotate the engine. Those wires boots extremely tight, and you need as much leverage as you can get. For the front three, use either gloved hands or locking pliers to get at them. For the back three, definitely rotate the engine, it isn't hard. All you have to do is put the car in neutral, unbolt the dogbones, and use a ratcheting strap. For the strap, attach the two hooks to the chassis right in front of the radiator, and to the engine brackets at the rear of the engine. Once you pull the strap tight, you will have easier access to the rear plugs. Once again, use gloved hands or locking pliers, shout some bad words, and voila, the plugs are available. For the #6 plug, you will probably need a ratchet joint or else you will have to remove the 02 sensor. All in all, not too bad. Would definitely recommend replacing the wires with some MSD's like I did, will make future work a heckuva lot easier.

Do what I do and go buy a case of beer and call a broke ass friend who wants to drink to come throw back some beers and turn some wrenchs. That way you got a a drinking and wrenching buddy for the night. Saves on all the cuts on hand from heat shield
