How much do you think my car is worth?

Today I was thinking about my future plans for the GP and I decided to get a different GP. I plan to keep my current GP until i graduate from college in 3 years, so nothing is to serious at this point. I am just curious.

My GP is a white 97 GT. It has 4 doors and the exterior has some nicks tree sap, and one scratch, but no rust. the body molding is coming off on the rear passenger side door. There also is a hole forming in the carpet under the mat on the driver's side. Rear struts are shot. Tires have a fair amount of tread left. Body and transmission have 101,000ish miles on it. Not sure about the engine as it is currently being replaced for the second time (engine #2 only lasted 900 miles / 30 days).

It has a HUD, dark leather interior, six speaker sound system (stock, I will be swapping back in the old stereo), 5 spoke wheels. Driver side seat warmer.

As a reference point for my area, an excellent condition, fully loaded, 98 GTP with 87,000 miles goes for $4,500.

most id pay is 2000 and thats if it ran perfect and was super clean

you could list it for 350 obo and take 2500-3000 maybe

I would look at the KBB that is a good place to start, also you could look at print ads and see what the dealer would sell one for.

Id say if you drive it for another year with lets say 130-150K miles on it I'd pay 1600-2000 if in really good shape...

I did look up the KBB and dealer prices, but they were ridiculously high. My car definitely isn't worth 3500.

As a dealer speaking, from my point of view(wholesale) it sounds like a $500 car.

Struts are shot, moldings going, carpet... 1997 model year, multiple engine drops.. questionable history...

After you spent $2000 on all mechanical recon and body and interior recon and the rest to make it worth calling people to come and see... I'd have $2500 invested in the car... then sell for $3500 OBO.... likely take about $3000 for it in the end if I had to... and make $500 at the worst I'd guess.

It's certainly NOT a car I would feel comfortable asking someone, say, $2500 for right now... not asis anyway.

My dealer Canadian Black book puts a 2002 GP GT in rough condition to be worth about $2000 minus recon... so a 2002 would be worth about $1000 to me maybe.

I bought my 1999 GTP in acceptable condition with 115,000 Miles on it about 2 years ago for $1000... my 2004 GT with 180,000 miles on it for $1000 also.
