Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

how many gallons are our tanks?

the GT will only ever take 14 Gallons from Empty and the GTP will take 16 Gallons+ so I wonder if there are 2 different size tanks on these cars

The most gallons ive ever put in her was 13.5 and that was veryy close to empty and put the needle way past full touching the black bar.I also usually get between 260-300 on a full tank with decent city driving,a few WOT's lol.

This has puzzeled me about this car from taking ownership a few weeks ago. I filled up last week with 14.5 gallons, accodring to gallons used I'm at 12.5 right now and 300 miles which = 24MPG, the gas light just clicked on. According to a specs sheet I found in the glove box the car holds 17.7 gallons. So under my logic I could drive another about 124 miles which equals 5.2 gallons left in the tank. Does it make sense that the gas gauge leaves this much fuel left but shows E? I may just throw a couple gallons in the truck and test this soon. I drive 96 miles a day back and forth to work and I'm trying to stop as few times as possible at the pump.

this thread reminds me of a new story i saw awhile back... guy had bought a truck at an auction and could never get more than 8 gallons in his tank even when it was empty... took it to a shop and had a false bottom in tank with mad pounds of weed stuffed in there.

easy way to know for sure is have a jerry can of gas in the trunk, run your tank dry and use the jerry can and fill up the rest of tank at the nearest gas station
I have put in 66 liters (17 gallons), drove the car for nearly 700km (434miles) on the highway,

My gauge is broken so I have to calculate it every time. I filled mine up last week when the gas light was on and put in 14 gallons (didn't quite fill it but whatever) I only went 192 miles before the gas light came back on :th_scratchhead: Sucks for me, wasn't even romping on it...Clean air filter, less than 5k on the plugs and wires, fuel filter is less than a year old.

I ran it below the E mark a few weeks back and put 17.8 gal in. Being poor makes you run on the last drop sometimes I was just glad it lasted until i got paid that week.

LOL, best...day...ever.

I hate these gas gauges. Everytime I turn off my car and start it like 5 minutes later, the digital range on the DIC and the actual gauge go down EXPONENTIALLY. It's frustrating as all hell.

The most Ive ever put in was 15 gallons and that was about driving 20 or 30 miles in the city after the light comes on. During the summer I would get about 275-280 miles in the city before the light comes on. Now since its almost winter i get about 245-250 miles in the city before the light comes on.

the closest I ever got to empty was pretty much on the bottom of the gauge, iirc was like 15 gallons when I re-filled. And I don't think I fully filled the tank, because of full car.

We could also launch an investigation on our local gas stations and have their pumps calibrated.......

So I pushed it to 349 miles which showed 15.2 gallons used, the gas pump stopped on 15.2 gallons, I'm going to push it to 17 this week and see what happens.

running ur gas that low will hurt the fuel pump guys. the fuel pump uses the gasoline to cool the pump as it pumps the gas. With no fuel to cool the pump down it will slowly die.

This.

also with those mods your pump wont have nearly as long of a life compared to a stock car granted you get into boost often.
