So you need either of these two bin files, then take that file and do a full write on the car.

I think you are making it sound tougher than it is. What you basically do is find a file for the year/vehicle that you are working with that DHP opens up w/o complaining about. Make changes..save as a new name and then write it to the car.

Whenever possible have the following in place:
Full laptop battery (DHP will *****)
Charger on car battery, if the car has sat for any amount of time. (DHP can *****)
Spare PCM (DHP can brick, this is the term for f it all up to hell)
 
I think i'm overthinking this to much lol I get it now. I don't have a spare pcm for her car though but i do have 3 spare gtp ones will those work if i have to use them?
 


DHP rarely bricks PCM's. Usually when they were new people would end up jacking with the car while writing the PCM, or they don't wait long enough for things to reboot.
I've only ever bricked one, and that was when the owner was jacking with the battery cables while I was doing it, and it lost power.
