got the holes drilled. used countersinking bits, and machine countersinking screws. 4 nylon locking nuts on the underside of each, and 6 with lock washers, and nuts.

34197_1259349858790_1680978447_505839_8091719_n.jpg

still gotta line up the hood, but other than that done

34197_1259349898791_1680978447_505840_801547_n.jpg

all on there, and done for now. when i get ready to paint the whole car i am gonna mold the scoops into the hood, and u wont see a hard line like that. and they will be the same color as the car. i liked them angled, cuz the front tabs were bending too far to the hood when they were straight, it is perfect with the lines of the hood, the angle puts the air right over where my filter will be, and this will work out perfectly for the paint job i will do.
so in recap...
hood scoops $75 - $100 dependin where u get them. (mine were free) +
screws, and misc. materials $20 +
about 5 hours time =
a pretty decent hood for way cheaper than aftermarket. and its something i havent really seen other people do. i may be wrong on that, but idc.
i personally think its pretty nice tho, hbu? :th_thumbsup-wink:

as a matter of fact, this weekend im getting the gt bumper, and i will be gettin the side skirts too :) so i completely and fully agree :th_thumbsup-wink:

oh i wouldnt doubt they will be. as soon as i can paint my car i will finish it. might be a while tho. think my gf is gonna dump me tho, so i might have more money soon :th_laugh-lol2:

i guess my question tho is, wut does bio think of it?? seeing as he was the one who put it down in the first place :th_winking:

Looks good, kind of an original old school Pontiac look to it.

Get it molded and painted now! I want to see a lower view of the hood.

:th_laugh-lol3::th_laugh-lol3::th_laugh-lol3:win!

the fit and finish is nice on it. i'll hold off on judgement until i see it molded and painted, i've got faith it'll look sexy. agreed on the gt body kit though. get it all done and painted and i think it'll look really good :th_thumbsup-wink:

they look better than i thought. waiting to see better pics with the gt bumpers and skirts. and id get black screws. and u need to paint ur bumper, nasty rust spots...

i dont like how you had to rivet it to the hood. other than that it doesnt look horrible per say, but im just not a fan of those scoops considering i know what they are.

looks good but only one question? how will you prevent water from getting all over your engine?

why does this matter? the engine gets wet all the time. do you not drive your car when its raining?

Please dont use filler!!!! just do it right fiberglass them in and paint it. Filler will not take the abuse on a hood. Fiberglass would be wayyy better and you can get the crap at any Walmart.

I'm gonna make a grille for it somehow. Haven't got that far yet :th_laugh-lol3: and I'm not worried about rain.
And bio, its not rivited. Its screwed with countersinking screws. When I mold it in u won't see them at all.
And 02 gpiraqvet, I will be doin it right. Don't u worry about that.
Its just a matter of time till it will look real good. Just gotta get the money :th_shakinghead2: ill be keeping u guys posted with plenty of pics :th_thumbsup-wink:
Ps, sandman, wut kinda pic u wunna see. Just the hood up?

not bad at all. I'll be watching this. Keep up the effort man and I'm sure it will come out sweet!
thanks man. much appreciated. i see u got a 97 se also. urs is much better than mine was lol. i got some fixin to do :th_winking: but ya, it should be pretty sweet. i heard thru the grape vine there is a gt bumper a pull a part over here. so that will be my spot tomorrow :th_thumbsup-wink:

when you mold it to the car and paint the whole thing be sure to update us with pics... you did very clean work. Just not feeling the rivets but eh. Good job!

i will be updating with pics for sure. thats why i said part 1 :th_laugh-lol2: also, its not rivited man. its countersinking screws. and when i mold it, u wont even see them. but i actually got a gt bumper today. its scratched and dented for now. gotta fix it, and put it on :) ill put up a pic of it in a few. i cant decide weather i should put them on first, or wait to fix em :th_shakinghead2:
