Hood lift support? Help..

I've been looking at my local auto stores, and none of them say they have the hood struts for keeping the hood up. My car doesn't have any lift support under the hood, and its becoming a pain. If i ordered these, would it work? It says trunk in someplaces, then hood in others.

Buy Strong Arm Lift Support E4119 at Advance Auto Parts

Your best bet is to take off your struts and measure them and compare them with the specifications post on the website. There are several different versions of the hood struts. Even better would be to take them off and take them into the store and compare them.

You can score them from Rock Auto. This is for an 03...

Link didn't work. I've looked on different websites too and i can't seem to find what i'm looking for. If anybody can find a link with something i can click on then order online, thatd be very helpful.

www.rockauto.com

This will get you to the catalog. Then just select your year, make and model and in the little search box type "hood support". There is a huge listing for them. They show the ones for the trunk and the hood so be sure to read the description.

Here is the one that OReillys sells... | O'Reilly Auto Parts

Then just take your old ones w/ you to make sure they are the proper length.

RockAuto is awesome. There is a 5% discount you can get there. The code for October was 67305385588894. But they have not sent me the code for November yet. :)

I don't have the old ones cause they aren't on the car!

But i see the Monroe Max-Lift Support, and the STRONGARM front lift support.

Theyre both around $13, does it mater which one?

I wouldn't think so. As long as they are designed for the hood. Heck, someone could probably measure theirs and give you a good idea.
