Hey Guys! First GP GT 2001 problems already LOL

Hey guys names Ron, I currently picked up a 2001 GP GT I bought it for 500 bucks has 200kms on it but worth it, I got it cheap well because it's doing what it normally does I guess starts up and then dies! I've researched this site and many others!!!

So this is it! And this is what I have changed so far!
first fuel pump regulator easy fix 130$ changed ran good for about 10 mins died couldn't get it going again till next day!
Ok thought it was the MAF, I've unplugged it tried nothing again, cleaned it! Put back ran good again for 10mins! Died!
Ive changed the plugs and wires just cause I buy I take care off from start! Again ran for 10mins! Died!
Then figured I would take the throttle body off and clean it and man am I glad I did that I got pics of before and after so much cleaner!!!!!!! This is what gets me put back Ran good for 45 straight mins I thought hell yea I fixed it! Thought let's take it down road and back put it in Reverse DIED CAN'T get it going now!
Ok so thought I would throw a new fuel filter on, still nothing!
Ive thought it could be the pass key so reprogrammed it! Still nothing!
Fuel is getting to the fuel lines cause if I press the release valve it shots gas out!
So that's my story so far!!!! My fuel pump is the next thing I was going to do but would that matter cause I mean I had it running and gas is getting there! And really don't wanna spend 400 on something that's not going to work!

Any help would be sweet as I want to do this myself! Sorry if am breaking rules on this site but last resort!
 


what happens when it dies? does it just...die? does it start to idle funny and THEN die? after it dies look at the CAT and see if its glowing red
 


Idls and Runs fine in park and N then just does a little chuckle and dies when I put it in Rev and drive I've tried 1 and 2 kinda wants to die 3rd kills it also that CAT does look original lol rusted to all hell check tranny fluid it's good so am confused lol
 
Seems so but also died when I just left it idling first 3 times was 10 mins changed those parts cleaned throttle body, fuel filter seems to run pass 30 mins thats when am like ok let's take it around the block when I put it in rev dies and won't start again when it tries shoots up to 3000 RPM and then dies again
 


I'd start by wiggling wires with it running in P/N. Reason being is when you drop it in R vs D the drivetrain rocks in a different direction, might be as simple as a problem wire. Check connections at the pcm (ensure the two bolts are snug). Check the connection at the ICM, that should also be snug.

If you think fuel pressure is a concern, test the pressure before shotgunning a pump.

CAT, if you think cat is an issue, rev the engine to 2K in P/N and hold it. See if the engine begins to labor like it has a plugged exhaust etc. Look at the cat after holding it at 2K for a while..is it glowing or excessively hot? Are the exhaust manifolds glowing?

Start there... that should give you a few minutes of stuff to try.

played the last two nights ok so!
No on crank sensor not sure where the location is
am going to pull the plugs again and let you know what they look like, now with that said once I was able to get it running for a while it did seem the front headers got hot WAY faster than normal now the reason I say that is because I changed the oil of course and missed a little ok no biggy it will burn off well once I did get it going lets just say it tried burning on there instead of burning of per say am sure if I get it going again today I will keep an eye on the Cat I might just take it out I live in a province where it's not mandatory to have it or not of course am not to worried if I gotta spend a little more I've spent very little do far lol
