help wont start???

ok ive got a 00 gp gtp.its been running perfect, however today i crunk it for the 1st time in 2 weeks,it crunk right up and i backed it out from under the carport then turned it off,i went in the house to get my money to go put some more gas in it and iy crunk but died a few seconds later,i was like it cant be out of gas so i went to the store and put some gas in a gas jug and then put it in the car,now it wont start,whats going on????:th_angry2:

check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail.

Ok how do I do that and what do I need,I got a 03 se and I can hear the fuel pump come on when the switch is turned to on but not on the gtp,why??

Also the battery may be dead.

It's a brand new battery or not hardly a year old

make sure your gas cap is on tight,, I know sounds stupid but you'd be surprised.

It's charged cause it cranks but not turn over but I don't wont to keep trying it cause I don't wont to burn the pump up and if it was a pump will one work out of a se with a 3.1

Try starting fluid

yes bend the tab like posted in the pic, put it back in, this sets the fuel pump in hi speed mode. by passes the resistor that may be dead. if it still dont work, then the pump maybe bad, id open the trunk hole and test for poser at the plug with the key turned forward. or have some one turn the key while you are holding the test light.

the pump swap, best to cross reference the part # first. look up each cars pump, then see if the part # matches.

ok i checked the fuses/relays and swapped the relay out with the one in the se,it still didnt work,theres no pressure at the fuel rail,gas just barely comes out cause the fuel pump isnt working,still wont come on,whats next??

open the trap door in the trunk. un plug the pump, test for power, if you have power the pump is most likely dead.

So did you try bending the tab over or did you just replace it?

I tried the bending and replaced and ill go test it for power,is there like a pos and neg in there?

with a test light, ground the one alligator clip, then touch one pin at a time inside the plug, do not cross them or the fuse will blow.
