help.... supercharger problem

baddiesel

i was driving my 98 gtp today heard a weird sound, it was my belt tentioner pulley breaking off (original plastic one) i got a new one put it on, problem now is it must of hit the supercharger pully on it's flight now i have oil coming out of the pully stem of the charger. can i run the car with out hurting it with the belt off the charger? also is there a seal behind the pully of the supercharger i can replace ? thank for any advice

Maybe. With the belt remove. The s/c will still spin during acceleration of the engine. The spining force is produce by the incoming air flow. Check your s/c oil. Low oil will cause excessive wear and tear to the front s/c bearing which required oil. Check the snout seal for damage or leaks too.

It might be easier for you to just swap your snout out with one from intense. I think it's only like $50 for a snout.

just checked intence it is only $50 bucks, the description said it is cut down to fit the smaller pullys, just need to find out if i can run my stock pully on it, also 3800 perfomance has all the parts to rebuild it for $72, 50 would be better if it works with the stock pully

that snout will work, its milled to accept the smallest of the small pulleys, the stock pulley will still work just fine.
