Help Removing Wheel

How do I take off a wheel without power tools..and the car is in the air so when I try to turn it the wheel spins.. I also cant put the car on the ground.

Correction: Lug Nuts off the wheel.

Situation: I went looking for new front bumper at my local junkyard. Found one in great shape. Then I went looking for the door light housing cuz mines are broke. Found some and also found a grand prix that caught fire somehow but it has great stock rims on it almost perfect condition. Isnt wrecked or anything. These are the wheels. But they say no power tools and the car is sitting up in the air, not on the wheels but there are other rims under the body holding it. I couldnt get them today..but im bringing my buddy along tomorrow. I am going to get those wheels...

Have someone hold the wheel?
Or have them press the brake in the car? I dunno that's odd. They shouldn't free spin.
 
Have your buddy jump in the car and press the brake in as long as someone didn't jack everything and then bring a breaker bar and you'll be set.
 
if the car has no brakes, try a ratchet strap tight around the tire, then tie off the left over strap to keep it from turning.

if the tire spins in the strap, let air out of the tire so the strap squeezes the tire.
 
Run a long pry bar through the rim and stick it in the ground or wedge it somehow.
When the wheel starts turning the bar will wedge itself and stop the turning.
Wrap the bar with something so it doesn't scratch the rim.
Also spray the nuts with PB Blaster.
 


For the rears you can just put the parking brake on. For the fronts you'll probably need someone to push the brakes or hold the wheel.

Or you can just leave it on the ground and brake the lug nuts loose then jack it up

Of course that's the normal way but OP stated car was in the air so Im assuming his either not able or doesn't want to go through the hassle and put it on the ground especially at a JY.

As mentioned have someone hit the brakes or wedge the wheel with a prybar, exhaust pipe, crossbraces anything you can think of.
Another method would be to use a ratchet or breaker bar with a 19mm socket and a decent size hammer. That should break it loose enough to spin it the rest of the way off, again someone on the brakes is going to help.

Imagine this, one rim laying flat with an upright rim welded to it, with the car sitting on it. Its a good 3-4 feet in the air.
