slick i dont plan on keeping the car stock,I want to build it up but I dont want to jump in off the deepend,I figure I'll start with bolt ons such as the CAI thats on it already and a good exaust system to start the ball rolling and eventually work my way up to a badass daily driver/toy if i can get a different vehicle for daily driving
 


how much would a stock size pulley be and how easy are they to find? how expensive is the tool to rent out so i can swap back to stock??
 
Looks like a modular pulley system of some sort find out who makes it and buy a stock sized pulley from that manufacturer. They are usually $30-$40 new. Try to take a better pic so we can read what it says on the side of the pulley.
And the stock catback is good up to something like 350-400 whp just so you know the restriction in the exhaust is the front manifold and the downpipe. This has been discussed time and time again. The only thing you will accomplish by changing the catback is make it sound like crap most likely.
 
I have a pulley puller to change the pulley out but just sold the stock pulley I have laying around. The only stock one I have now is on my comp g
 




It's pretty much been said but ill trow in my 2 cents an engine is an air pump, the goal is the most efficient way to flow air in and out, make an intake by putting a cone on the TB, buy a set of SSAC headers (like $225~ shipped) then get a custom tune with that 3.4" pulley that'll be enough power to break your transmission lol (but that's a whole different story) IMO I wouldn't get a mail ordered canned tune.....for many reasons but that's another story also, just stick with intake/headers for now then pulley/tune but to answer your next question to run anything smaller then stock YES you need a tune
