HELP!!! Head unit wires are bugging me!

Okay, I bought a Pioneer head unit from Wal-mart recently and I believe it was defective. So, I’m going back today to exchange it. But anyways, my cousin and I were wiring it up to my car. All of tha wires seem to be paired up pretty well. Except we ran into a couple of issues. One, tha blue/white remote control wire has to wire to something else. But we cannot figure out what yet. And two, there is a set of wires that are from my car and they don’t seem to be able to connect/wire to tha head unit. It’s a set of brown and blue wires and there’s like 3 of them, I believe. What is this???? And does this necessarily have to be wired to the head unit in order for it to work? It’s frustrating me. I want to figure it out on my own before taking it to a professional and pay a huge fee for it. Can anyone please tell me what that set of wires are and what does tha blue/white remote control wire hook up to. Because all of my wires from my car (at least, from tha main set of wires) are all wired to tha head unit.

Tha head unit that I own is this:

LOL, before anyone bashes me about buying something so cheap, it’s only temporary for now. But help is definitely wanted and appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What year is your car? Does it have a factory CD player?

When you say the remote amp wire has to be wired to something or something else, why do you think this?

It's a 1997 and yes, it had a factory CD player in it. When I removed it last night, it had two sets of wires and I'm like wtf is this small set of wires for? LOL.

But last night, my cousin told me to buy a "Car Stereo Wiring Connector". It's by Scosche. And an antenna adapter was included. It says that it quickly connects factory wiring to your new stereo. So, I'm like why tha hell isn't it working? LMAO. We carefully paired each wire to the right one, but we're still left with that white/blue one and that small set. And I thought it HAD to be connected to something.

This is the connector:

Walmart.com: Scosche Car Stereo Wiring Connector 94-06 GM: Auto Electronics

Dont worry about the white/blue wire. That is the remote turn on lead for adding an amplifier. And the other one would be for the steering wheel controls, if I had to guess. You should be good to go as long as you used the harness, and hooked the scosche harness correctly to your pioneer head unit.

Thankssss!! After work, I'm going to head to Walmart to pick up the new one and re-wire everything again. Hopefully this time it works. And the second set of wires for the steering wheel controls makes sense. This time around, hopefully things work out! If not, I'll definitely come back, LMAO.

The steering wheel controls aren't in the second connector. It's one wire, typically light green or such in the main connector.

If you'd like things to be easier. Take a look at the wiring on the12volt.com and you'll know wire for wire what they all are. No questions, no worries.

Bill, his car shouldnt have an amp, unless he has a bose system (which I dont think the GT/GTP's were available with in 97) if Im thinking correctly (please by all means correct me if Im wrong)

Did the radio even power on?

He mentions a small set of wires. Even w/o bose there could have been a factory amp. I'm going off the top of my head, but he had all the symptoms. I guess when he looks at that thread, it'll be clear if it needs an amp wire or not.

<<<< Definitely a female, LOL.
But I had two issues. Tha head unit was messed up, so I exchanged it and, two, a fuse had blown. So now everything is fine, =^_^=
Thanksss, everyone!!
