Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

help have engine knock.

I had my sound like this. It was a grenaded lifter that wiped out the cam. You won't really know until you take apart the whole valve train until you find what is wrong

Well fellas I really do appreciate all the insight.. The more I've looked into it the more Im thinkin I have a bad lifter or spring but almost certain it is a lifter... I've gone through quite a few videos and doesnt sound like a bearing or rod.. Anyways I've determined the sound is loudest on front cylinder head so gonna pull the plugs and go from there. My question is will I have to pull the LIM to get the lifter changed if so i might as well do the LIM and replace all the lifters right..

lifters = a lim job. and new valve cover gaskets and rocker nuts iirc

lim gaskets are worth doing just because...but on the other hand i'd hope for a bad spring because depending on whats wrong with lifter it could take the cam with it. seems like you parked it right away, so theres hope.

Heard noise right on start-up after having parked it just fine the night before thats why I was so confused about it so no I actually haven't driven it since. Its run maybe 8 to 10 minutes tops just for videos and to move car into my shop but not continuous for more than maybe 3 minutes at once. Was wondering wouldn't cam being damaged affect idle also? car actually idles fine.

Get a mechanics stethoscope and place it on the exhaust manifold on each cylinder until you hear it

I used a long screwdriver and placed it on various parts of engine and sound is definitely loudest inside front valve cover mostly towards passenger side of head... but its definitely on top cause its louder up top than under car. Also checked pulley on blower thought maybe bad coupling but it's fine. If I remember correctly pulley would be loose when tugging from both sides inward and outward right? It shouldn't have any play right?

Anyways Scotty I hope it is a spring or loose rocker so I can fix it then that way I can take my time to do the LIM job after getting everything I need to do it.

Yea I planned to do it myself just didn't really want to though.. just replaced the suspension on my 4runner and was looking forward to just enjoying driving the Prix and parking the Runner.. It's weird cause I honestly have had some very nice cars but I've become really attached to this car.. Maybe it being my oldest sons first car before has something to do with it.. I've maintained it for the last 5 years cept for having a shop replace the AC blower thats it..

Guys I'll be tearing into this hopefully by Tuesday. Gonna do the LIM gaskets, lifters, rockers, and springs... Also will be replacing elbows and water pump.. Any recomendations on springs, rockers, and lifters to replace the old stuff with will be appreciated.. If links are provided would be even better. If you guys can think of anything else let me know. I've been watchin the LIM and lifters video to get myself familiarized with the steps. Already got replacement coolant, oil and filter.. Hopefully everything looks good other than suspected springs so I can just get this done.. If anything else pops up I'll be sure to give you guys a heads up for opinions.. Thanks alot guys I'll get pics of process up as I go then order parts accordingly since not in a real rush. Wanna make sure to do this right...

That really doesn't sound like a rod to me. Have you tried removing the S/C belt and starting it to see if the sound went away, or maybe both belts? If it's not a pulley then could be a rocker.

Well guys first off want to thank each and everyone of you guys for all the great advice.. FordMan you hit the nail on the head and in all honesty most were pretty close in what was thought to be wrong. Anyways got all the crap out of the way and pulled the valve cover. To my great surprise everything looked great then I go to check the rockers and lo and behold one was loose as could be almost in exact spot where I mentioned previously to have pinpointed the noise.. Pics to show everyone just in case anyone is interested and hopefully the vids and pics can help someone else down the road.. Again thanks to all for all the help and i'll get pics up once my new headlights go on.. Oh and can someone tell me what to torque the rockers to. I was thinking 11 ft.lbs.... also what about vave covers.. Gonna get some stuff in the morning before putting it back together then seafoam for the ol'girl...
