i have a 98 gtp with some problems lol, i could not start it with the key, doors lock when i put it gear but dont unlock when i put it in park, no horn, no third brake light, no security light not even when i first turn the ignition on, i thought it was the ignition switch so i replaced it, it fixed the starting problem but nothing else, i have no idea where to start looking now

This sounds stupid, but disconnect your battery. Hold, or clamp the positive and negative cables together for an hour (just to be sure). This will discharge any stored electricity and give the computer a reset. Sounds strange, but it can help clear up these odd computer issues.

its safe to do as he said, it cant hurt, but im thinking you have a larger gremlin. possible bcm failure.

you can start with free checks for now still, make sure the battery connections are clean and tight, and the grounds on the engine, bolted to the tranny bell housing are clean, tight, and the wires are not broken or anything odd.

i'll check all those, the car sat for 5 yrs only has 79k on it it's been a lot of work getting back on the road all new brake lines , fuel line , trailing arms, sitting that long didn't do this car good lol

5 years is a long time for sure.

in that case be on the look out for chewed wires under the hood, and the under the dash, mice are mother fvckers, they like to get in there and chew stuff up.

yeah that thought has crossed my mind, i hope thats not the case that would not be fun trying to track down chewed wires. if thats the problem i'll run a jump wire from the brake lights to the third light and run a push button to the horn so i can get a inspection sticker so i can have some time to find the problem

Wow, 5 years. Yeah, sitting tends to be the death of cars.

If resetting the computer doesn't help, I know that the doors unlocking is a setting in the DIC. I think I've even seen the security light as a setting in there, but I didn't have a chance to poke around this morning. I have mine set to unlock the doors when the key is removed, not when in park. Look though all those settings to see what it is set to do. If it's set to unlock at park, then change it to unlock on key removal. See if works that way, and switch it back.

The horn and brake light could be anything from chewed wires to corrosion. Did this car sit outside or inside for 5 years?

I'd remove and reinstall the fuses/relays/circuit breakers under the hood. It sounds like one supply is corroded. The issues you are seeing don't sound pcm related.

Horn doesn't run through the pcm at all
Security light will, but you could have a burnt bulb
Door lock/unlock, is programmable,...read owners manual and reprogram. It's in high security mode. (for chicks)
Third brake light, oh isn't that the cruise fuse? I forget...Check fuses and bulbs.
