heater blower and hud

Ok i have a wierd problem here as far as my heater blower. I bought the car about a month and a half ago and the heat settings would only work in the #5 position. I was told that the resistor is the problem (have not changed yet). I have since gotten the key fob for my viper system that was on it and when i use the auto start the heat works in every position 1-5, but as soon as i put the key in and push the brake (turning off the auto start and having the car in normal running) the heat goes off, the DRL's go off and the information center goes out. As soon as i turn it to 5 or off everything comes right back to normal. ????????

Now with my HUD it was originally not showing on my windshield. I was driving the car home from where i bought it (2.5 hour drive) and it got dark so i stopped and i decided to look through the windshield into the HUD and i could see the speed showing a 0. I was thinking that maybe it could be the dimmer switch for the HUD so i was tapping on it and got no response. Since then i have not even been able to look through the windshield and see anything at all. There is no display at all. Could this just simply be the dimmer switch?

BTW the car is a 97 GP GTP 4Dr.

Maybe your HUD is out of view. Press the botton on the right, up or down until it comes into view. The button moves the image up or down on the windshild for comfort. If find it more comfortable when I dont see it at all.

I have tried that. It does move but i have no image appearing still. I took the dash apart this morning just to check the switch and i was able to watch the mirror move so im kinda lost on what is wrong. Theres not even an image anymore when i look through the windshield.

check the solder connections for the HUD... it is pretty common to have them loosen up over time.

How is this done? I just picked up a HUD from the junk yard, and I want to make sure it'll be worry free. I have plugged it in, and it tests fine...but I only see the ribbon cable on the outside, but nothing else.

THANKS!
Jesse

When the blower motor resistors go bad, the motor only has high speed, or the full 12volts. This is like a safety, so at least the driver has some kind of air flow, even if it is high. You are right, the resistor(s) are bad and need to be replaced.
