• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Yeah the Grand Prix is not factory fast. There's a ton of aftermarket mods to make it go fast. In his case stock race this car, no way. The newer cars are so much more efficient and more stock power

At tune won't help it really go any faster. It'll shift different, but as far as making a difference in the 1/4 mile, not much.

If you want to go fast with these cars, you need to increase boost. Everything else makes almost no difference.

Have a custom pulley machined that has an outside diameter of 3.8" but a recess for the belt to ride in that is actually 3.4.

Yes.
Sure.
Nothing, there is nothing else you can do. Either remove 1000lb's or find a different car to go fast with. If you can't mod it to make it faster, it won't go any faster.

I could care less to drive to the eastern side of the country to watch a $1500 car do 14 second 1/4 mile passes.

It doesn't make a difference. The track conditions and temperature are playing more of a part in things than that stupid MAF screen.

I love these threads. That someone, somehow or another, found something or figured something out that thousands of others who've come before on the 3800 platform missed!

MAF screen is there for a reason, and the reason isn't to either quicken or slow the car down. It's there to channel air properly so the sensor can perform an accurate read. That's it... But if you think it helps by beng there or not, that you've found some UNICORN... You're just fooling yourself and regurgitating it makes you appear foolish as well. The only thing that may make a difference is if you "TUNED" the accurate read of the sensor. That said, I don't believe the sensor is reading more accurately absent the screen. Track doesn't prove a thing, it's palcebo effect!

As mentioned above, there's more thall affect speed and that silly little screen...
