Ok I have a 98 gtp having problems with car thinking its my alternator bearings? Loud squeak had lights dim also having problems with car rpms jumping up and down every now and no codes. when I was driving today it was not to bad just loud squeak when I let off the gas to cost it stopped and when I went to take turns felt like power steering was cutting out. Changed plug wires mafs that's all I can think of right now

could it also be my supercharger going bad how could i tell between the two? i dont have alot of money right now and i think the other alternator is bad it squeaks when i spin it

Well found out it was my tensioner pulley went bad replaced it today but still having issues with rpm going up and down thinking the supercharger needs new bearings though just to be safe thinking my boost bypass valve is not working when I'm in boost my car idle goes up and down

Bad blower bearings and BBV will not cause spikes in the RPM.

Bad BBV will cause a loss of a boost when going WOT.

i broke vac line on my sc doing my lim job, the idle was jumping up and down, like the car had a cam. i sprayed carb cleaner, and found the broken line in seconds, when the carb cleaner hits the broken line, the rpm's will jump up.

you do this with the car running.

Going to try to test again my throttle body gasket suck through once and it did the same problem I'm going to check that out also tomorrow

Ok changed my tb around today feels like that was part of the problem but when I hooked it back up I got a code p0122 tps bad when I went to take off it wouldn't shift untill I hit 35 so I changed it out still having the problem why would that happen?

check the wires to the plug for cracks or breaks in the insulation look right at the ends, and bend the wires to see if you see and breaks, if so that could be your problem, you been handling them so one could have broke, or the cracks got to it causing dry wire. bad wires, with throw the same code as a bad sensor.

make sure you got them plugged in the right place, kinda hard to do, but well it happens. lol

Yeah I checked them they seem to be fine I'll double check them tomorrow if I was to replace the wires how would I go about that

you can buy a new pig tail for any sensor on the car, cut the old one off strip the wire back till you get to shiny clean copper, and solder and shrink wrap the connections. new pig tail cost around 10 bucks, or cut one off a junk yard car.

soldering is very easy, search youtube for a lesson. 10 dollar soldering iron, and a 3 dollar tube of flux core solder, another 5 for shrink tubes.

being that the wires cook over the exhaust cross over pipe, its possible.

i had to replace my maf and iat pig tails. funny thing is, after i put them on i have the solder and tubes left. my friends charger cord was chewed in half by his cats, im like "i can fix that", and i did, and it worked lol saved him a easy 20 for a new one.
