• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Gtx has a turbo!! lol

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

the dogs way better looking then the camaro lol

Dog definitely wins over camaro lol, going to bring him every where I got he will be my junk yard dog haha.

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

wait till hes got his shots, parvo is a real killer. if they catch it they die, theres nothing they can do to save him. hell you can walk it in the house on your shoes and pass it on to them, its rare, but happens.

and taking them everywhere is actually really good for the dog, its good to socialize them as much as possible. the more stuff and people they get to see and check out and experience the more rounded they become. aka a cool ass dog.

and crate training is a must if you need to leave him home a lone. this not only keeps your house in one piece, but keeps the dog from eating god knows what and killing himself or costing you like 2 grand for surgery.

ps: crate training sucks balls big time for about 2 weeks, lots of crying goes on, ( by the dog) and it can go on for a while, you just need to cover the crate and ignore it. they fall a sleep sooner or later.

Yeah hes getting his shots next week hes a awesome little ****, but yep I have ordered the last few parts I need from online, I also am getting the pump and pump shaft for the transmission that should be going in this week and next payday I can get the tune and converter and be all done. Maybe by then someone will pick up the gen v and I can get headers. Got delayed another pay check because of the pump but at least im getting almost done with my car:).

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Dsmuts did it come with valve cover gaskets?
And I thought about it but wouldn't it be better to run a cooler tstat if I drop my pulley down?

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Not that low... And no they do not come with vc gaskets that a completely different part.

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Echoing this

I had a "drilled" T-stat for about 4 days, I hated it. All it does is make it take longer to get to the rated temperature. Slower warm up times, does indeed equal worse gas mileage because right from the start it's already pushing coolant through the radiator.
Just as a tip if anyone has a drilled t-stat and doesnt want it drilled anymore, get a nail that the head doesn't go through the hole, clean it from any oil, and put it through and the head flush to the t-stat. Make sure it can stay there and get hot, I used the "helping hands" alligator clip base. Use a soldering iron and get a blob of solder to stick to the nail all the way around right at the thermostat. Once it's cooled, cut the excess part of the nail and it's permanently sealed.

Re: started tear down of the 01 motor

Set backs and other things come up, I really want to get everything for the cam build before the motor goes back in and then the one guy set me back a little with the fake cam.
Matt at least it will soon lol I don't care how long it takes as long as I finish it and I did it:)
