GTP vs. Eldorado?



Alright I understand now hah. I kinda figured I can't just go out and put my foot down right off the line :P haha.
 
i raced my 00 gtp against my bro's maxima 5 spd just across the parking lot. first run i mashed it and he got me good because the wheels spun. i would have caught him but the lot is pretty short. next run i hit the gas just enough but let it get grip. when i felt it had traction then i went wot and had him good. gotta get the launch.

ppl say gtp's launch good and then kinda bog down but i find the opposite to be more true. once the blower kicks in it just feels like it will go and go to me.

your quote reads like you have tcs on and you think it is supposed to help. that is why i said turn it off. it sucks. i hate tcs on gm. hate it. just a hassle.
 
I've noticed in mine if I go easy up to around 20mph and stomp on it it'll spin a bit. A little spinning shouldn't hurt though right? hah. and yeah I kinda figured the tcs would kick in and stop it spinning so much but I guess not hah.
 
if you do that you will lose. not cause it scratches in second so much but you launched too slow. you won't get that if you launch better. practice. you will be able to feel the tires grip. its like a split second after initial launch. just feel the car.
 


This does sound like a close race on paper.

So I suggest removing the passenger and rear seats, spare tire and anything else in your car before the race.

Well considering a race in a stock gtp against a stock olds aurora with a N* in it like a 99 or 2000 was way closer than i expected. That olds should have the same n* i believe not the 300hp version and its a heavy ass car also launch will be huge IMO. Also I had a white Eldo ETC quite a bit faster than people always assumed even with blizzaks on the front......... Smoked a jr edition red monte in High School with it. God I miss that Eldo!

Aurora had the 4.0v8 250hp.
 
It will be close. My father in law has an 02 deville which is the 275 hp version. We ran them and my 99 gtp just has intake and ubend delete and we ran from a dig to 100 and I had him by 3/4 of a car
 
Did you race your dad yet? Why even post such a thread? A much more entertaining post would have been the results. Get in the car & get this $hit done :th_laugh-pointup:
