Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Great E.T. for minor mods

So here's the deal. Back in April I took my 01 GTP to the track for the first time. The car is fairly stock for the most part, all that was done at the time was, 180 stat, cat back, 2.5 dp with highflow cat, 93 octane, 104's. Car weighed like 3610 with me in it. I also run a 4" drier hose from TB right out the fender where the corner marker light would be. I did this on my last GTP and has proven to make huge gains. I mean HUGE. I also was running my heavy ass 19" Moda MD5's they weigh in @ 52lbs each with tires. So the best pass I made was a [email protected] with a 2.2 60ft time. with the downpipe open after the cat too. The boost with my custom $10.00 ram air raises to 10lbs on the top of all the gears due to the air being forced into there. So now Im getting ready to do my tune with my HPTuners, add a set of speed daddy headers and I also got a set of Hoosier QTP on weld draglites. Im hopeing to get this thing in the 13.5o range on the stock pulley, but this time Im gonna add race fuel due to KR I was getting with the boost level. Has anyone ever seen a stock pulley GTP run this quick or do i just have a needle in a hay stack. Ive been racing FWD for a long time and have run RWD drag cars too.

A buddy of mine went 14.5 with his GP bone stock down to the paper filter. He removed the headlight to increase air flow but that was it, I was pretty damn suprised. I think he averaged a 14.7ish however. The air was good but nothing like negative DA or anything.

I noticed you mentioned that you have been racing FWD for awhile now...do you have any launching tips? I have raced only RWD cars up until last friday when I ran my GT and I am trying to figure it out. My 60' foots sucked I was averaging late 2.2's to early 2.3's. I know with RWD you want to transfer the weight to the rear tires and you want to transfer it efficiently but what are the general FWD principles?

Must have been good elevation.

So...with stock wheels and a decent 60'...like a 1.9 or 2.0...you would have been damn close if not in the 13's. I ran a 13.89 @ 98 with a FWI, 3" DP, PEM's, 1.84 Roller Rockers, and a 3.5"...but it was pretty warm out...I was on street tires, full int., spare tire/jack, and pump crapo 91.

I will say this...get the headers put on and get your tune dialed in with the stock pulley. You should be able to run a crapload of timing with that stock pulley before you start knocking. Also...watch the slicks...your input shafts aren't going to like those very much being stock. Just throwing that stuff out there.

As for tips on launching. Practice. Your stock stall works just fine...you can run the RPM's up to about 2K just braking it up at the line...you don't want to mash it or you'll just blow the tires off...nor do you want to be easy on it...you've gotta find the happy medium. You want the pedal as far down as it'll go while the tires are just screaming for traction...I've found this to be about 70% throttle until about 15-20 then lay into it...but the less mods you have...easier it is to launch it.
