Got some wheel questions? In here!!

Well according to answers.com the bolt pattern for a 2001 dodge stratus sedan is 5x100. If the guy was using them on a 01 strat 4 door then I guess thats what the bolt pattern might be. I don't know anything about rims sorry. If I try to put the rims on the prix they wont fit?

if the bolt pattern is 5x100 then they wont come close to fitting.

however, if universal they are probably 5x100 and 5x114.3, so they should fit so long as the hub bore is big enough to fit over the gp hubs.

Got em and they fit, but the tires are too small. I'll run em for a couple of weeks till we get snow then get new bigger tires during winter.

I found rims with these specs

18" x 7.5"
245/45/18
offset (i think) is 42

Will this rub if i drop with eibach or b&g?

probably not seeing as those are pretty skinny wheels and the offset is in the right area. however, depending upon your suspensions age and wear level you might. you never know until you try.

Hey I just did a complete suspension overhall this fall sittin at stock ride height and this spring Im prolly getting rims I was lookin at Bremmer Kraft BR05 18x8 42mm and was wondering if those rims with a combination of 255/45 18 tires would rub at all or should I just get 245's.

255s would probably be fine, but theyre gonna be expensive for not much gain over 245s. if it were me id stick with 245/45/18.

ok thanks I was just wonderin

I was lookin at Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 and the price for 255's $155 and for 245's its $153 so its pretty close

I just bought some 17x8 bullitts and when i test drove them, there was this pretty loud droning noise. there wasnt much vibration, maybe a tiny bit. any suggestions?

They have used tires on them, theyre pretty close to being bald. I dont have any vibration and the car drives nicely. the droning only happens when i get to 55-60mph

i would point at the tires before the wheels. rotate them and see if the sound moves. is it located one one side of the car or all over?

Its hard to tell if it's on one side or all over. i had time to rotate one side and that didnt seem to make a difference. but these tires were on a mustang and theres pretty much no tread left. thats probably not helping me

i vote tires. my tires get loud and drone when i go fast and theyre nearing its life.

Hey guys just read through the thread a bit and I had a question about some wheel options.

I really like the G8 GT wheels but the ones im looking at have a 5X120 bolt pattern

OEM 19" CADILLAC CTS CTS-V PONTIAC G8 GXP WHEELS RIMS - eBay (item 260708672536 end time Jan-14-11 09:43:39 PST)

im looking to put new wheels on my 97 GTP what issues will I run into? I dont know much about this stuff, I know Id like to offset them from stock and im wondering if these wheels alone would naturally do this?

And the other option is to put on the 01 GTP rims on my 97 to match my 4D GTP, while im in this direction I would definitely like to offset the wheels. Do you just use spacers to do this?

Like I said I dont know much about this stuff and interested to learn thanks.

you need a bolt pattern of 5x115 or 5x114.3, the 5x120 will not work no matter how much you want it to. your best bet is to find a knockoff set with the right bolt pattern.

the stock wheels are 6.5" wide with an offset of +52mm, but you should be fine going as low as +35mm so long as the wheel isnt more than 8" wide. you can use spacers, but more would recommend against it because of the fact that you will be using less of the threads on the studs. you can get extended studs to offset this, but most people will just recommend that you get wheels that are the correct offset to begin with.
