Getting new rims need some help picking tires

Ok, I have an 05 Spiral Gray GT I'm getting some 18x8 45mm offset black Motegi's. They are going to be my strict summer runs and I will have my stock 16s for winter with all the salt and junk up here in Ohio. We do get a good amount of rain so I need good traction wet and dry. I probably won't be be going to the track but I do like to fly down the freeway a lot and cornering is also a must.
 


Yea I am definitely getting 245/45/18 for the size I just have to find a good set of tires. What about the problem of rotating the tires with them being directional and only being able to flip fronts and backs not side to side?
 


Ok how about some other options/tires? Those are definitely good just hard to swallow $900 bucks for tires and then gotta get em mounted and balanced. I am getting the runs for around 600 and it would be nice to spend around the same for some good rubber and still have some money left over to play with other mods ;)
 
Continental Extreme Contacts are good, I had them, but I found problems with the sidewalls, not a friend of curbs (city parking). Otherwise good tire. But on thr GP I found the Potenza's to hold better all around, for an all season radial that is...

As for paying $700-$1000 for rubber on the vehicle, (I paid around $600 for mine) well, everything on the car don't mean squat if you buy those cheap tires that'll last 100k miles, slide all over the place when wet and make noise when dry. But if your not that aggressive with your driving, you can get away with cheaper tires.

My personal opinion is that the tire is one of, if not the MOST important component you will have on your car. Not a place to cheap out! But do your own research. If you want a strictly summer tire, the BF Goodrich G-Force T/A KDW-2 is a crazy sticky tire... lol

I will actually be putting a set of these (Portenza's) on my GTP next week. As for the directionals... no worries, you just rotate front to back that's all.

I like my Bridgestone Turanza Serenity's. Those are on my stock rims and my summer rims have Riken Raptor ZR's, however, I havent ran the summer tires yet, so cant say how they are.
 


I havnt gotten them yet, but I've been looking and I found Dunlop Fierce Instinct ZR's for 720 installed and balanced at Jack Williams, and I plan on going that route. I have a friend who runs those and he said they're good Dry/Wet/Snow, but a little louder than average. I dunno if you guys have Jack Williams nationwide or if it's just a Pennsylvania/Eastern chain.

I work at a tire and repair shop, the potenza's are very over rated along with the pirelli's...Best bang for the buck is the Continental Extreme Contact DWS. The Michelin Pilot sport are amazing but the most expensive... the Potenza's boast a 360 AA UTQG rating...where the DWS' have a 540 AA rating. Where I work in Oklahoma the DWS' are cheaper than the potenza's and last almost twice as long. Another great option is the BFG Super Sports.
 
DWS got wear issues if youre not keen on rotating and maintaining tire pressures. plenty of subbie guys use that tire around here.

True, but all tires will wear unevenly if not rotated. The front tires get the most wear so rotating every 6,000 evens the tire wear while also preventing cupping to develop on the tires due to worn shocks and alignment issues
