geting exhaust downtube off

trying to get the exhaust down tube off ive sprayed it with wd40 tried to get a smaller socket 2 fit i dont have a torch and i think the bolt is close to striped due to rust any ideas on how else i am able to get this bolt off with out having heat for it again which i dont have
 


Are you talking about the upper side or lower side? If it's the upper side, put a 13mm socket on it with a long extension and hit it with an impact gun and hope it doesn't snap the bolt.
 
the lower when u lay under car and look up the exhaust has the nut on each side i got 1 off and other is striping or striped tried smaller sockerts no luck
 
i was hoping to not have to do that i dont have a torch i have all bolts out but this 1 and the motor is ready to pull
 
Are you dropping the motor out of the car on the cradle? If you're pulling it out the top you're messing with the wrong side of the downpipe. Just drop it with the exhaust if you're dropping it out the bottom. That way when it's out you can get better access at the bolt and maybe get it with a pipe wrench.
 


ok what bolts do i take out then i didnt think i had to pull the exhaust manifolds off to get engine out of the top billboost says get the ones underneith in the bak of the engine
 
ya up under the car need a long extension to get to them possibly a swivvle socket
13 is a little loose i got the first 1 with 13 and the second was rusted and wont budge
 


can i get it from under the car or above in the motor in the bak i could pull the motor forward some i think but idk if they are accessable
 
got it off ever heard of easy outs? they are left threaded kinda and they cut into the metal they work get thanks autozone for 5 sockets for 25 dollars no return
 


I have a set of those laying around for just such an occasion but i haven't used them yet to see if they are effective or not. At least now i know they are.
