Good morning..
Last night while up in Barrie picking up a compressor and coming back for my 1 1/2 hr drive, was on the QEW and had a Beamer past me quite quickly, I was doing 120km at that time, so I gunned my car, she actually sputtered and jerked really bad, then the engine light came on.
Now I do have a portable computer, but it was after midnight, when I got home, wife grabbed the car to go to work, and I went to bed.
She's not home for a bit yet, but was curious what trouble am I in???

My GTP is a 1998, and I do my best to stay on top of my problems... any suggestions would be appreciated.

Chuck.. it's breakfast time. Grab a coffee and a Timmie's donut while you are getting the code. You didn't give us enough to go on...it's kinda like you predicted the weather here in CT. Today is mostly sunny with a chance of rain (cause CT) and hell you never know..it might snow (cause CT) or there could be a hurricane, tropical storm or tornado with a side of earthquake. (all because CT).

We are going to need that code to know which way to suggest you head.

The codes are PO336, PO440, PO303 & PI1380

Car starts fine, but when in 3rd gear, and at a slower speed, say 60 km, oh by the way BillBoost, that would be 40mp for our American friends :) any ol way, when it is trying, or going into OD, it actually shudders, You know, the car shakes.

I know for a fact that one code is for evaporator or gas cap, not sure what it is, changed gas cap, and it comes back on, so I just ignore it, car ran fine for the past year, so fig it is minor.

Car starts fine, so dunno what is the problem.

Chuck, I'm all too familiar with the slow speeds they make you drive up there. I've visited and broken a speed law or two. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Code names would help. Like Elite says 336 is pointing to a crank sensor or wiring issue. 440 would be that large evap leak that most call a gas cap code, likely it resides in your driverside rear wheel well area, 303 is misfire cylinder 3 and PI1380 isn't magically popping into my head. However being me.. I did a quick google search and found a link back to here. Misfire, crank and 1380 appear to be linked.

I cleared the codes, drove at least 100 km, and still no engine light.... I notice a hesitation climbing hills, had a friend suggest that the cat is bad .... Could that be true?
Dunno what's happened, like I've mentioned, no codes yet. I'm lost.
 
Well engine lite came back on, the codes I get are ...
P0137 - 02S ckt low volts and P0440 - evap cntrl system malfunction.

When I give car gas slowly, runs great, if I want to pass someone, it hesitates, like almost out of gas.
Any help would be appreciated, please.
