Gas Prices!!!

I dont see that happening. Oil closed under $60/bbl yesterday.

Its funny though, several years ago, such minor fluctuations in the price of gas would have been brushed off if ever talked about. Now, we are super sensitive to any changes in the price of gas and its suddenly the topic of debate and speculation.

Oil dropped to $57 a barrel, and OPEC is freaking out. here's to you OPEC!:th_nanana:

Still carpooling, averaging 32mpg in my old paid for Corsica. Yeah, I could drive both cars again....but I'm putting as much back as I can. If everyone does the same thing, oil's gonna hit close to $40 range.

Make 'em squirm people.

See this is exactly what I have mentioned in other places here. Mindsets have changed and even though prices have dropped close to pre-Katrina levels people are still doing what they can (for the most part) to keep the costs down and to not have to buy gas as much.

We were out pacing supply around the peak of oil prices so we have learned that we cannot keep up with demand. But since then demand has fallen off SIGNIFICANTLY and its thanks to people like Reptile.

Now, if we could get Detroit to produces some really economical cars without having to shoehorn us into them, we can keep demand low and perhaps show OPEC that while they may have the oil, we dont necessarily have to use it.

Many of the cars Ford and GM sell in Europe are very energy efficient, but they always make the excuse, "The US consumer doesn't like them because they are small, not great performance, blah blah blah, don't look good, etc." The Prius is a butt ugly car, but folks are still buying them.
