Gas Prices!!!

Saw $1.62 for 87 on the way home tonight. Didn't stop, since I'm going to top off Wednesday before making the trip home. Hopefully it'll shed a few more cents by then.

I heard someone, one of the so called 'experts' on cnn or somewhere say that the price of gas is usually around $0.20 - 0.25 per gallon for every $10 in price of a barrel of oil. The price of oil is just a tick under $50/bbl so we should be, eventually, in the area of $1.25/gal for gas if the price of oil remains as it is.

Well down in Muskogee, which is probably 75 - 100 miles south of me, its $1.39/gallon.

ya I have heard that too. but when hell freezes over:th_devil:

I suggest you get a blanket then, 'cause its going to get cold. I think oil is going to go a bit lower, maybe into the low 40's. If it goes any lower than that, even with the economy, people are going to get out more because gas is so cheap and that will push the price up some. I'll be really surprised if it falls below $40/bbl but Im not ruling out the possibility.

Remember all those people saying we would never see pre-Katrina prices again? Well here are and heading below even that.

Someone quickly tell me why gas is going so low again. I'm no expert ans don't follow anything or understand it. Just try not to use too much of it lol.

Demand started to roll off some before the economy took a real dive. When that happened, however, because the economic impact has been world wide, demand sharply dropped off and that caused the bottom to fall on oil. AAA is projecting over one million few people on the road this holiday season which is why I think oil will go down even further, Im just not sure if it will break into the $30/bbl range.

Right now were are close to 5 year lows on gas prices, a 6 year low would put us in the $1.20/gal range. But I think hitting that price point or lower will cause prices to stabilize some because even in the economic down turn, going out on scenic drives would once again become a fairly cheap thing to do for people that cant do much more financially. I dont think we will hit the $1.00/gal mark but we may come close. If the holiday season retail sales fall way off, Id expect crude oil to take another hit and push us close to that.

Prior to the demand roll off though, demand was far outpacing supply but Im hoping that people as a whole have learned something from this and continue to push demand down by way of increasing demand for more fuel efficient vehicles and alternative energy sources.

i found a sunoco that sells 100 octane for 8$ a gallon!!!!!!!!!!! i filled up the prix for $120!!!!!!:th_thumb-up:
