Fuel pump whine when engine gets hot

Well, the title says it all, when my engine gets too hot(leak in rad) i hear a loud whining sound coming from under the car, sounds like the fuel pump is having to work extra hard to move fuel, i have also started smelling a strong gas smell lately...

How hot? Which car and motor do you have? What year? Do you smell the exhaust while in the car driving? Is it in the cabin of the vehicle or from the engine bay or out of the exhuast?

It hits around 240 at the hottest, im riding a 99 GT V6 3.8 sedan, and its just outside at first but when the car gets up there i start smelling it inside just a little(may be due to window being down)

I would guess that you have two separate issues. You need to get the rad replaced ASAP so that you dont do any damage to your motor, if you haven't already. Can you see gas leaking anywhere? Can you get the fuel pump to activate and then look around inside the engine bay and under the vehicle to see if you can see where it is leaking.

Yeah im planning on changing the rad in the very near future, as for a gas leak, no i cant see a drip anywhere, would a bod o2 sensor cause the car to run rich?

yes, it could. I know when I get on the throttle and I am driving with my windows down the exhaust smell comes into the cabin of the car. Our exhaust doesnt smell awesome when we get on it. But I don't smell gas. You dont have any codes or anything like that do you? No SES light?

No SES light, planning on going to autozone to have them scan it anyway just to see, i actually start smelling the gas just after i turn the car on, and continue to all day long

I would lean towards a leak if that is the case. Have you parked it on dry pavement and started it and let it run a while to see if it drips anywhere?
