The new MPVI2 still uses wires, I believe they still require you to be wired when flashing calibrations.
Also the wireless is slower to responds because it's wireless and it may not allow for the same amount of channels to be logged.
I'm using 4.0 and haven't had a problem with how little I use it. The people with the most problems are the people using them on the newest of vehicles with brand new support added to them.
The reason for the new equipment is because the old interface was 10+ years old and many of the parts are no longer made. So the new unit is smaller and covers more future vehicles, it's price point is also only $299 plus the cost of credits for the standard version, so price tag is cheaper to those that do not need the 8 credits from the old version and have 6 unused credits.
