Flywheel\Flexplate question PartsLady needs some help

Hi Guys,

As you all probably know PartsLady is saving to buy a GP of her own and with your help she is closing in on her goal, she found one she may be interested in BUT its a car that the owners could not afford the repairs on so the mechanic kept it. MY main concern is he said he change the Water pump, thermostat and flywheel and that is my first question. If I am not mistaken aren't automatics equipped with a flex-plate and manuals a flywheel? But, lets just say he just used wrong terminology It's a 99 with 173,000 miles I have not looked at it yet but just wondering what issues could the flywheel\flex-plate have possibly caused that I should be aware of?

Just in case you wanted the stats is a 1999 173,000 miles white 2 door, with tan leather interior, no HUD (yes she wants me to add one thank god for the writes ups here) needs a passenger mirror. Other than that pics look good he wants $2,200 or Best Offer I am going to offer $1,800 if it checks out

Thanks in advance

LOL said it was in good shape just some minor things, well lets see drivers seat torn to shreds, dashboard stained, mold growing on the carpet, dashboard cracked, rust under hood on dog bones and fender wells, to be nice we test drove it during test ride is made a thumping sound from rear on turns, if you nailed it it made a grumbling sound and bucked. I said know he said well I will take best offer, I said "no". LOL Oh yeah and the back seat the leather was unwrapping from the center arm rest. So still hunting
