• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Fixed my GTP! Time for mods.

For those not familiar with my angry rants, my car had an intermittent rough idle/stalling issue for years, and I replaced nearly every sensor in the engine with no results. MAF, MAP, TPS, CPS, IAC, plus the fuel pump/filter, and a bunch of other things. Short version: I had it down to the PCM or wiring, and I got an Overkill PCM. Problem solved!

Now, I want to get back to the fun part of owning a GTP. My other mods are a K&N intake, 180* tstat, modular pulley system(3.8 for now), 104 plugs, ubend delete, resonator delete, and Magnaflow mufflers. I've kept up on the maintenance, and my goal is an additional 20-30 HP, and a couple tenths off my 1/4 mi. I'm pretty sure the next step is headers, Will said I'd be good to pulley down after that. I just want to make sure I'm not forgetting anything.
Also, I have a lot of drone with my mufflers; can anyone recommend a good way to reduce drone without it sounding totally mellow? I just want to quiet it down some, especially if I'm going to put headers on. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

I'm at 4600ft above sea lvl, and my best 1/4mi run was a 15.2, which was before the overkill tune on a 3.4 pulley. Now it doesn't like the 3.4, and I haven't had a chance to run it on the 3.8. I'm hoping headers + 3.4 pulley will get me in the high 14s. Reasonable?

If the Overkill tune is set up for the 180* leave it in there though. And yes 104s are way too cold, you should be running Autolite copper or irridium 606s iirc or some ac delco 41-110 iirc.

Plugs are too cold for 3.8 and 180 is unneeded too.. put that moola into a real mod. :th_thumbsup-wink:

I might be wrong...I'll have to check the box, I might've put iridium 605's in last time. I went through three sets of plugs trying to fix my rough idle, when all the while it was that darned PCM. I had copper 104's last time because I was planning to get headers shortly and run the 3.4 pulley, but I believe they are 605's now.

Autolite Copper 606's are the stock heat range so thats probably what you should run intil your headers are in and 3.4 is on =]
