• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

First Modification

just keep the IAT sensor near the cone filter and youll be fine.

still havent answered the question, can the pcm box stay or not? im sure if i looked at it or saw a pic of the stock box i could tell if theres enough room. im not worried about it i can always mount the pcm somewhere just curious.

Personally i would pull the air box and either get a pcm tray from another car(blazer) or zzp or just ziptie it down im putting an open come of the tb on today

yeah ill probably end up doing that anyway just to clean it up, was just curious, guess ill have to find out myself.

my pcm just lays there, completely unsecured. absolutely nothing but gravity holding it in place. (you can see a little of it in my intake pic) thats how its been for over a year now... and unless i do some SERIOUS offroading thats where it will remain for years to come

Look at mi pictures of v3. I pulled off the foam squares that held the PCM in place in the stock box and put two underneath it and one on top of it right at the corner of the fender. It fits tightly in that position.

you would hate to drive michigan roads post winter like that.

I'm not really sure what happens in Michigan at that time, I live too far away to know. We don't have very extreme weathers here I guess, compared to other places in the world.

we get a lot of snow and they salt the road like crazy. the salt kills the cement somehow and cars driving on cold bad cement make it pothole city. and they cant fix the roads until it warms up again.

take the air box out and secure the PCM somehow. it can just sit there if you dont feel like doing anything.

hrm the filter i have is 3" opening, i have a 4" to 3" coupler at home, have to find it somewhere. will i be ok with this? considering that the 98 stock intake is 3" and has 2 90 degree bends. if it goes straight out does the abs unit get in the way? looks close.

The basic spectra filter i just put on touches at the tip of it but not bad so yours may touch
I still need a 20* bend of my tb dont like the way it sits plus i need to have my iat in the tube lol

yeah mine is a spectra i believe. its about the same length as a spectra i bought at murrays before. ill see if it fits, ill probably end up needing a bend though. does the iat have to be in the tube? ive ran a few cars with it just handing there around where the filter was without noticing anything.

it would be better going to a 4" filter opening

ok someday i will buy a 4" one.

SOme will say it doesnt matter i will however say it should be in the airstream

And the filter i bought actualy had spacers in it that slid out for 3" 3 1/2" and the final size of 4"
