first gear shudders and slips ONLY when first is manually selected.

like the title says. car drives fine. it's a rocket ship in drive but if I manually select first gear it slips and shudders and pops anyone know why? it doesn't do it in drive. I've read a few that do this in drive but mine only does it if u manually put it in first gear
 


The only difference when you manually select 2 or 1 is that you engage the additional manual 2-1 band. The main band (fwd band) is also engaged at the same time. Typically you'd get better grip from the bands with the second engaged.
