So my friend has been talking about how fast his truck is and how it would give my car a hard time. He has a 99 GMC Sonoma with the 4.3L, Pretty much stock, Catback and Intake. My cars mods are in my sig.

So we lined up from a dig, I let him honk, he got the jump for a second lol. After that, I pulled about 7-8 cars on him till about 140 Km/h (about 85 for you americans.)

He said he got a ****ty launch, so he insisted on going from 60km/h. I told him when he takes off, Ill go, as soon as he took off, I 3-1 downshifted and took off past him like he was standing still and pulled about the same length as the race from a dig.

He was pretty pissed lol. He didnt think my car stood a chance lol.

Thats my first kill with my Overkill PCM, Which I am very satisfied with. :)

And for all you vids or it didnt happen ppl, I didnt get a video so dont ask lol.
 


It happened, an L35 4.3 in '97-04 S-series made 180, and let me assure you, a GTP would roll it hard.


Edit: For you google dorks, the ZR2 4X4 was rated at 190 with the same damn engine...
 


Awesome! I cant wait to try this overkill tune out, hopefully it isnt against a f-body v8 or gt stang they always like to pick on me lols.

Even with the extra 10hp my ZR2 was painfully slow stock. I'm not surprised OP won, even with a GT he would have sailed past him IMO even with each others mods.

I actually raced what I think was a Mustang GT, It had a saleen body kit and a saleen sticker on it, But I was neck and neck up to about 160, before i let off. I only raced it cause it was a bad ass looking mustang, and i didnt think i stood a chance ( i just wanted to see it take off) . But i was dissapointed when i was hanging with it.

The sad thing is, his truck walked all over my audi a4, thats probably where he got all his cockyness from lol
 
The 4.3 is an awsome motor for that little truck, bunch of tq, more then enough powuh. But a race truck it is not. They do get out of the hole really well...til about 20mph haha. If its a 4.3 and there's no snail on it you'll most likely be on the winning side

The AWD probably causes a decent amount of power loss. A stock jetta FWD is probably faster than a Stock a4 AWD.

Could be wrong tho, The audi might have a better tune.

All i know is that he beat me everytime by 2-3 cars

Maybe the fact that im 310lbs has something to do with it lmao
 
my buddy has an s10 w/ the 4.3 vortec and it has a 5 speed. i would think twice about putting my gt up against it. im pretty sure i would have him until about 50, then he would walk me. He has about a 9 second 0-60.....and yes i was there to time it.

Had one and it was still slow. The bigger v6 just means you pay more gas to go slow
