Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Favorite tools - Let's hear it

That's why I bought the Gearwrench XL's ... take a look at the open end's. It's not a full blown Snapper design, but it's designed to be like it.

Snap-on cordless impact, junkyard hero :) and track handy because I swear in the summer I change wheels and tires every week on the camaro

My 28V Milwaukee impact is my favorite tool and my 2 ton alum jack (40#'s compared to my 100# old jack) and my gear wrenches. What about your pry bar bill?

Best damn razor knife ever. I've had it for 6 years... lost it 4 times... found it back each time. Longest I lost it for was two years... and was found in the backseat of the GP. So comfortable in the hands and is beefy.

Wiha-Tamper-Resistant-Torx-Screwdriver-Set.jpg

Wiha screwdrivers... both normal and precision. Good quality and comfortable.

Caliper set

and.... Gearwrench flex head set.

Spill free funnel for coolant, I got one long time ago when I was a jeep tech. It helps fill and "burp" the coolant of air bubbles after opening the bleeder. One of the best tools I ever bought.

Also my Stant coolant system pressure tester, it has never failed me and found every leak with it.

Easily my most-used tool is my Easco flex-head ratchet. Long and strong enough to bust off rusted, over-torqued lugnuts and cradle bolts (that's right, I don't use power tools). I also use just this wrench and a deep 5/8" socket to do all my spark plugs in 15 minutes without rocking the engine. When it finally dies, it will get a burial.

Round two for me:

Small trim clip tool (craftsman)
Yeah, that Lisle funnel, it's so nice
Did I say 82248 prybar... Dan, you should check it out. :th_winking:
Long pivoting head ratchet, yup I'm there too
Literally too many to list...
Ingersol rand 3/8 titanium impact.
Flexzilla air hose (Stays flexible all year any conditions, super light)

In all seriousness, here is my list of favorite/most used tools:
Snap On 7.2 volt cordless screw gun. Easily the most used tool I own.
Snap On Solus Ultra Touchscreen scan tool. Has paid for itself many times over.
Dewalt 20 volt 3/8 drive impact gun. Will take off most car lugnuts without having to drag around shop air. Fits that special niche for most every fastener removal application.
Knipex side cuts. Without a doubt, the best out there.
Snap On Flank Drive combination wrenches. Not saying I don't own a few Craftsman combo wrenches but when the job requires it, the Flank Drives can't be beat.
Paraffin Wax. In my opinion, the best way to free up seized nuts and bolts when combined with heat. Virtually no mess.

i agree with these. my knipex side cuts, my snap on 7.2 cordless, my snap on flank drives i absolutely love, and my snap on 3/8 impact cordless along with my snap on 3/8 medium length impact sockets. all the most used and loved that i own. but i love all my tools lol. and my glock g38, and my tactical sks. me gusta mucho mucho.

edit.... also my power probes. couldnt go a day without them. and my gearwrnch flex heads, yea,.

Snapped some pics of the hinge handle I was talking about. Brand is Herbrand, guessing Dad bought in the 40's or 50's.

Not sure why nobody makes one like this anymore.

Great thread.

IMHO, the 1 tool that you need for our cars is a 15mm ratcheting wrench.

For those of us w/o air power, and/or actually use torque specs & wrenches..

Craftsman Nextec 12V Li-ion 90* 90ftlb impact wrench.

Huge time saver-medium duty, then tighten to proper torque. Great battery life. Best of all, it really does charge from dead to full in 30min-w/ 2 batteries I have never drained 1 faster than the other charged!

It is what your dad called an open end wrench, minus the fact they changed the design so it doesn't strip the heads like your dad open ended wrenches use to.
