Factory gxp wheel / tire questions

Hello,

I have a 2006 GXP. As everyone knows, the tires are unidirectional, and the rims are bigger in the front than in the back, with different offsets to top it all off. This makes tire rotation impossible.

I need new tires and obviously would like to try to get them to last as long as I can. Has anyone experimented with swapping the rims from front to back and vise versa? I will also most likely abandon the unidirectional issue with the new tires.

Any feedback will be appreciated.

I saw one the other day that was OBVIOUSLY swapped from front to back. looked like ass. It even made the car look like it needed an alignment BAD! Do not do it. If you don't get directional tires then you could at least swap from side to side, But it is like any performance car. One set of tires stays on the car and just rolls, and the other set gets used and replaced, used and replaced, etc.

you can swap front to back all you want. it wont matter. it just looks funny. if i were you i would try to find another set of two of the wheel you want to keep (id suggest the lower offset, wider ones) and run all four of the same.

I ditched the 7 inch rims and bought 2 more 8 inch rims and run 255/45/18's all around. It looks fantasitc compared to the worthless looking 7 inch rims in the rear.

Do it, you'll thank me later. You'll be able to rotate whichever way you want then.
