Exhaust leak from resonator

So I have a bad exhaust leak and my car is starting to sound like a rice burner.
I talked to a guy at a muffler shop today he said is was my resonator its right underneath the front passengers. And also said that its throwing off my o2 sensors and that why I'm getting bad mpg
Let me know what you think cause I thought the resonator doesnt have anything to do with mpg

if the leak is after both o2's it shouldnt really effect there readings,

i dont think youll EVER gain mpgs from a exaust leak.

Sorry to jack the thread, I was just about to make a thread, but I have a 3" catless downpipe and stock exhaust, if I put in a 3" glasspack in place of the stock resonator, would my mpg go up? It's only $50 for one so it's probably worth the expense I would think? I'm not wanting it to be loud though.

no, i find that very unlikly

go buy a glass pack muffler, its 25 bucks, take it to the muffler shop and tell them to weld it in place of the res. you want 2.25 in and out lets.

if you have a U bend, have it removed while they are welding stuff.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

wont do a thing for mpg, as your still reducing it back to 2.25, stock pipe. even if you went 3 inch the whole way i dont think it would add up to much. especially on a stock engine.

A glasspack is defiantly louder then a resonator. They don't absorb sound like a res. but add a deeper tone and reduce drone/ rasp.

My resonator had like a dime sized hole in it and actually sounded pretty sweet! It got bigger and bigger and I eventually got pulled over for it. Cheap fix though
