Hi, I'm kind of new to this. My engine makes a loud whine like when your power steering fluid is low. However, this happens at acceleration and does it when travelling in a straight line. Any ideas?
 


Assuming the PS and tranny fluid is full then I may recommend a trans. fluid and filter change. I've heard the trans pumps on these cars whine like that when the filter gets clogged up and is starving the trans for fluid. And no, I wouldn't recommend a trans flush. What color is the trans fluid? Nice and red, or brown/black?

Please also post the year and mileage of the vehicle as well so we can get a better idea of what to try and diagnose. If its a 97 with eleventy-billion miles on it then that changes things, lol..
