Engine Knock

Could uour engine on one of these newer cars knock without throwing any codes? It sounds like a bearing is bad the car has 125,000 miles on it. I have already replaced the the pullys to keep the belts tight because one of them where jumping. Does anyone know about how long the bearings last on the power stearing pump?

yeah it can knock with no code. It could be a bearing or a cracked flex plate. Mech stethoscope is what id start with

Ok so i just watched a video and I think it sounds more like the supercharger then a rod knocking but i am going to try to get a video of the sound up tomarrow.

Sounds like a shovel being dragged through gravel? supercharger bearing.

Pull the sc belt off and see if it goes away

I thought about that did not know if it would run with the belt off the supercharger.

It will run. Don't prevent the supercharger pulley from spinning.

Well it spun a bearing. Is there someplace i can get a performance short block from someone other then zzp?
