• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

EGR fix on SD headers

So when I install my SD headers I am going to delete the EGR the proper way. Now I am thinking one of two ways. Way #1 is to weld the EGR port on the headers closed. The other option is to tap it and put a stainless plug in it. I am also going to tap and plug the LIM also when I have it out to do the gaskets.

I have to do this to. Was thinking of getting the blocks from ZZP or Intense (forgot which site had them) but ehh.... Would rather make it look better then that!!

I found some scrap alum and made my own block off plates for LIM and rear header a little rtv and works like a charm! No more annoying tick!

Along with the EGR I'm going to delete my rear O2 on my 99 when I put my motor in, in a couple weeks. Does it make it more difficult or easier to tune around having these sensors deleted or is it a moot point?

97-00 cars don't care about the rear o2, only 01+ cars use that rear o2 sensor for fueling.

Having no EGR will throw 3-4 codes, so those need to be tuned out and some people will lose a mpg or 2, but if you had a tuner and knew where to add timing in the "cruise cells" you can re-gain them back.

Nick..that doesn't cost enough! C'mon man. It's what you do, it's what I do, it's what we suggest to everyone.

Cheap, easy, done......works for me.
