Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

E Brake Light comes on intermittently

So just yesterday my 97s E Brake light came on while I was accelerating and then as soon as I applied the breaks the light would go off, once I get going again same thing repeat repeat repeat. Tried scanning it this morning but of coarse no codes came up?

Brakes are working great I just serviced them about a thousand miles ago, new rotors, pads, front driver side caliper. Im assuming this is not very uncommon but it was tough searching for this one on the forum.

Ideas?

Nothin quite like feeling like a complete newb, just when I thought I had the hang of things.

It wasnt super low nor was it on the max fill level ill take her out for a spin and let ya know the result.

No problem. We are all newbies at one time. I had the exact same issue many years ago and when my friend told me to check the fluid I felt like a fool, but I learned something new.

Heh well fool is what I am tonight my good sir! Ran it to the gym and back and no more light. Bleh. Oh well ill stick with it and get there to veteran status eventually!

Well the reason you ask these kinds of questions is so this thread will be here for the next person that runs across this problem.

Heh yeah win!!! The search function is not that great on the site I end up combing through other random threads and getting way off track!

On a side note why is it that when this light came on these was no code associated to it? I mean I get why codes flash and trigger the SES but what triggers the brake light to come on with no code?

Its just a basic sensor in the resevoir. The BRAKE light has illuminated to show low brake fluid on vehicles since at least the late 60's before there ever was ECU's.

Its basically like a low fuel light, except for your brake fluid.

If it comes on again you might want to check for leaks as well. Mine would come on every month or two and I would fill it back up. Finally noticed a small leak in the back at the proportioning valve.

If it is the light that comes on when the e brake is set then pull up on the pedal and see if it goes off. That will tell you it needs adjusting.

Thanks guys, shes running solid! Now if I can just get some freakin time to install my new system so i can move on to my next project! Strut Spring Combo or maybe even coilovers!

So is it possible for there to be a really slow leak in the caliper itself? my fluid level dropped again but its really slow, and I do notice a little bit of brake fluid in my wheel when I park it so I know where the leak it. Pulled the wheel off today and made sure the bleeder was tight as well as the connection from the brake line and they were. But I still see a little bit of fluid pool up in my wheel, its really little but I can notice it. Any thoughts?
