Disappointed? In powerlog

Got the er's in tonight, I am much pleased haha, I guess still not what I expected but a noticeable difference. So I guess I'm up to 3 "real" mods. Plog, hv3, er rockers. I feel like there's only one thing left to do, top swap or turbo.

Opinion accepted, I feel like they did what I wanted so not worthless to me, would I have seen more gains an been better off with a l67 car? Yup! But I got a gt that's what was in the cards for me and I feel great that I am able to work with what I got and I'm still slow as heck but I'm faster than any stock l36 that pulls up next to me so that is good enough for me. Maybe one day I can put my big boy pants on and buy a real car. Until then I think I'll start enjoying "my" car privately.

Isn't modding any car part of being a car enthusiast? Should not everyone who is even remotely into cars enjoy their car regardless if it's a Honda Civic or a zo6? I usually stay out of crap like this, I have been using car enthusiast forums like this for the last 15+ years and there is always those few guys that just love to degrade and belittle everything they come across, and I have learned that engaging this only feeds the fire, but come on man I'm happy with what I have done to my car and I enjoy sharing that with all of you guys. I look at and read all of the build threads I can on here and I enjoy your guys cars. Why down play mine? Because I'm sub 200hp? Because without "boost" I will stay sub 200hp? For the most part I like to hear from you guys because everything is constructive and educates me in the long run, but don't degrade me because "you" think my car/mods are pointless. I work hard for my money and I hope to one day boost my car and make decent power, maybe my car will rot out before that happens and I'll just have to buy a better one but for right now I'll have fun with what I got ;-)

Eh I let you stick a wheel in my back and drive for a minute. I'm over it. I should have been over it 20 minutes ago before I asked for a tampon. I'm not fooling myself I have owned several stock and modded l67's and no matter what I do to this car I can't get the tourqey (is that a word?) Feel that I want. Everything I have done thus far has just gained more and more farther and farther up top. It's a gain regardless and it's still fun just not where I want it.

I have a 99 GT. had the orig engine not spun a bearing I would still be running the N/A and loving it. I paid $1100 for a 1 owner, gorgeous inside and out car 4 years ago. once it shot the bearing I found a 100k S/C engine for $300. so like you rlugo87, run that thing and enjoy, like I said I still would be.
 


And see I feel like I want a turbo but ain't I still keeping my power up top at that point? I'd like to go supercharged but I don't want to pull the heads so that leaves the ssm90 kit and I have heard bad stories of said kit. And a guy doesn't really want to drop 1500+ on a horrible idea.

with turbo you dont give a **** about torque at low rpm, once it starts spooling your a rocket. Your na has more torque pre turbo than my low comp block off blower less engine

Hehe this guy hands me a snickers and a couple midol to relieve the cramps.... Thanks bud, I had this opportunity when my lifters failed I bought a 99 gtp I planned on swapping the motors but replaced the lifters instead. I'll keep messing with it until I can justify spending the money for boost.

I guess I'm biased to s/c since it's what I'm used to. I owned one turbo car (Audi a6 2.7 twin turbo) and I was never happy with that car, for God's sake I traded it for a malibu!

How long could a guy expect a stock trans to last after a turbo? There is a used cartuning kit somewhat local to me for around 1k obo so it's an option considering taxes being soon. But I just can't burn up a freshly rebuilt transmission and be ok with that, my wife especially would probably kill me, like actually kill me.

10psi intercooled wouldnt be a problem, dont drive it like you stole it. I had a 90k rebuilt for a few years, pump started taking a crap other than that trans was still in great shape.
 
It's really what I want to do, and at least by going turbo I didn't flush hv3 money down the drain. I suppose I'll send an email out to the guy selling the kit I found and see what kind of negotiating can be done, hmmmm maybe he wants a 01 gt with a spun bearing that just sits here and takes up space haha
