DIC troubleshooting

so i have a 1999 GP SE. It has the 3.8 so i assumed it has the same computer as a GT. So I installed a digital DIC and everything works and lights up but my trip computer/oil life flash 0% and i get no data to it. Wiring has been double checked so its not that. Is it possible that my ecu isnt sending the proper data to the DIC? And would a intense/overkill pcm solve my problem?

i know that these two connections are good and correct...which is why i am confused...are there any other wires that would cause it to flash 0%?

can you switch it off of the 0%......is this what is displayed for the oil life meter? Can you reset it? press and hold reset for ten or more seconds to reset...........I doubt an aftermarket tune would have anything to do with this.......not 100% sure though on anything.......if that does not work, disconnect the power to the car at the battery to reset cpu and see what happens.............keep us posted

well the thing is is it displays 0% for all the modes (oil, range, fuel used etc.) which leads me to believe that im not getting a signal from either the DLC or the wire from the gauge. The other thing that i havent gotten to work correctly is the dimmer doesnt work so at night it is suuper bright..so obviously i have some wiring issues there...but im almost 100% positive on my DLC (tan wire on obdII plug) and my speed sensor wire (dark green on back of gauges)....another thing i might add is it has the check tire pressure light which i thought was only supposed to be on 1997's but the guy i got it from had a 2000 (i have a 1999)

I would reset all power just to see if it is "locked up" now...........other than that I don't know much about the wiring of these. Sorry I can't be of more help.

nope im still blinking 0.0 on all modes...all wiring is in check and im convinced that my car doesnt put out the correct data for the DIC to read and i figured out the dimmer issue...im just stumped on how to get this thing to work correctly

.. That is a SAD news to hear!! Hope somebody can prove otherwise.
How did you figure out the dimmer issue? I realized that the buttons(ENG, TRAC, etc.) aren't lit.
I'm pretty sure my wires check.

Do you have any idea what do a4, a8, and b10 do?
(edit:
a4: check tire pressure
b10: fuel level input)

What the heck is vf park ???

..so confused. Spent 5 hours and stuck on dreaded blinking 0.0!

btw, you have a remote starter or have factory alarm system bypassed?
Another possibilities I can think of...

there are like 3 different DICs

you cannot use a 98 in a 97....

also the 99-02 are different I believe...

I have a 97, and I swapped the engine harness and PCM from a 98, my DIC stopped working (flashed 0) so i grabbed one from a 98, and it works now..

Do you know what year the digital DIC came from? As stated only certain years work with each other. Also is this the digital DIC from a GT or a GTP? The only difference between the two is the traction button. Other than that they are identical.

does anybody know why only the trac control and low trac button would work on my dic but not the display. checked all the bulbs behind the display and only one was bad so i replaced it but the display still doesn't light up. the previous owner stated that after technicians from Sears installed a new battery backwards possibly, and the display has not worked since then. is their any way i could check the dic wiring to the battery and make sure it is correct

Hmm. That may be mine as well;
ebay item description were its from 1999. Any way to check by just looking at DIC? like serial/part number?
